Restoran Asam Batu Laut Food Review
Restoran Asam Batu Laut
Type: Seafood Restaurant
Location: Kampung, Batu Lapan, Tanjong Sepet, Selangor in Morib
From Kuala Lumpur: 1:30 hours
Third time here at Restoran Asam Batu Laut (亚三峇都港海鲜饭店) in Morib.
It took about 1:30 hours to get there from KL. Make sure you use Waze. There is a large parking space outside the restaurant. Large dining area/hall. All tables are round and good for groups and families. Can smell sea breeze but not recommended for swimming or dipping.
It is run by a Malaysian Chinese family and you will notice the kids helping out with the serving.
The food was great and freshly cooked. Have variety of choices and styles of cooking and flavors.
The chilli crab was fresh and well seasoned, but I noticed it was unevenly cooked.
The Mongolian Prawns is a must-try. Soury-sweet.
My favorite was the oyster omelet. They were very generous with the oysters.
Fried squid, the batter was light and the squid was cooked perfectly.
The nasi goreng ikan masin had no ikan masin but they added fried anchovies on the side.
The kangkong belacan was just the regular kangkong belacan.
Ambience was ok, overlooking the beach. Just avoid going there during weekends, tend to have a lot of diners, although the turnover was fast.
Toilets and washrooms are available.
The service was very good, fast and attentive.
Price is I think reasonable for family or group.
We paid Rm210 for 6 dishes and 3 white rice plus drinks.
Take out leftovers because we were not able to finish all.
